TimeAcct Information Systems
Announces Disk Triage
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, October
23, 2001 -- TimeAcct Information Systems,
a specialist in disk sizing and analysis utilities, today announced the release
of Disk Triage 6.0, the long-awaited upgrade to its popular TreeDirSizer
utility. Disk Triage 6.0 features advanced disk space analysis capabilities
that ensures a company always has a complete view of their entire corporate
network storage environment, thereby reducing the possibility of network
downtime and service degradation.
As a specialized utility for network
administrators in medium to large-sized organizations, or individuals within
subsets of such organizations, Disk Triage provides a quick and easy way to
monitor disk space usage across an entire network (LAN or WAN). This ensures
that valuable time is not wasted gathering data from each file or sub-directory,
and it ensures that a network administrator can identify problems before they
escalate. These problems could include network downtime and service
degradation, which according to Infonetics Research, costs the average
1,000-person company an estimated $32.7 million per year in lost productivity
and opportunity revenue.
"It's unbelievable. As computer
users, we have set high standards for complex business software over the past
15 years. However, before now, there was no tool that could perform the most
fundamental service for large-scale computer networks -- the ability to gain a
complete understanding of the physical storage of information,” says Kurt
Dicus, CEO and President of Adinfonitum.
“Every time I need to analyze a computer problem, the first tool I turn to is
Disk Triage. Within seconds, I can see the where all the data lives."
"With the advent of LAN based RAID
Arrays in the terabytes and home PCs shipping with hard drives that are
measured in the tens of gigabytes, it has never been more important to know not
only how much space is being used, but where it is being used, and what it is
made up of," says G. Bradley MacDonald, President, TimeAcct Information Systems. "With Disk Triage, a company can
catch problems before they start, thereby helping prevent network downtime
which has the potential to save a company millions."
Disk Triage, which retails for
Us$99.95, uses a wide variety of analysis tools, including graphs, reports, and
a powerful tree view, to help interpret the gathered disk allocation and file
usage data. It can also graphically show data breakdowns by file size,
attribute, dates (create/modify/access), time, extension, owner, and registered
file types. Disk Triage is the only utility to provide this amount of detailed
information about the files that make up a network.
