Disk Triage - Analysis Features

Disk Triage provides some very extensive analysis capabilities in addition to the standard scanning and sizing.  It provides breakdowns by file Size, Attribute, Dates (Crt/Mod/Acc), Times (Crt/Mod/Acc), Type, Extension, Owner, Name Size and Top '10' lists.  Each analysis breakdown is recorded by both total size and by total number of files.  This offers a more complete view of the results than just the total size or total files alone.  The results of each breakdown are shown using two graphs and a spreadsheet type list screen.  One graph for by Size, one for by Files - and the list screen showing both in tabular format.

The additional analysis breakdowns is one of the many features that sets Disk Triage apart from other disk space analysis utilities!!

The following screen shot shows the break down by File Size.  Here you can see that most of the space is taken up by files in the 8 to 16 MB category.  However, the vast majority of the files in that directory structure are in the 1-16KB range.  This may lead to decisions as to where to store certain files for performance or space reasons.

The following screen shot shows the breakdown by File Extension.  Here you see not only the graphs but the detailed list of the data that is used to create the graphs.  From these views you can get a real feel for what is being stored in your disk space.  It is high resolution image file used by your marketing department?  Or database files?  Or possible illegal content such as MP3s?
