Disk Triage - Input Specifications
Disk Triage has the concept of Input Specifications. These are all the parameters that go into determining what gets scanned - and how the resulting data is presented to the user.
Each of the Input Specifications sections is presented in the "Input" tree in the upper half of the interface.

This tree allows the user to choose which part of the Input Specifications they want to view and work with. Here you can see it is broken down into five sections.
Each screen presents different data to the user and allows them to control different aspects of the input and output of the application.
The following information will give you a brief overview of the five sections. If you would like more detailed information - please read the Input Specifications section in the help file or On-Line Manual
Basic Screen
The Basic screen allows the user to set the most commonly used options in the application. Here the user can choose which directories to scan, which file specs to include (ie *.*) and what additional statistics to be gathered.

Selection Screen
The selection screen allows the user to restrict which files will be included in the scan. Here you can choose files by their attributes, date/age, size, owner and size of the file name. It is on this screen that you can easily tell Disk Triage to only include files that are over 30 days old, owned by John Doe and that are under 1 MB in size.

Tree Screen
The Tree screen allows user to customize the appearance of the tree. Here you can highlight directories in the tree that meet certain criteria - like if the directory is over 100 MB in size, etc. You can also color the columns of the tree and determine whether you want to see the grid in the tree or not. Starting in version 8 - you can also specify the period for the activity statistics that are gathered during the scan - which is 30 by default.

Graph Screen
The graph screen allows the user to customize how the main Tree graph will appear. Here you can determine how many pie slices will be in the pie, whether to use 3D graphics or not. One important item is the other pie slice option - which allows you to clean up a cluttered graph by combining all the slices that are smaller than a certain value.

Analysis Screen
The analysis screen allows the user to configure analysis categories and customize the output. Like the Graph screen above - there are options to customize the output of the graphs. There are also other properties that allow the user to determine how many items will be included in the Top '10' lists - what the size and date categories will be, etc.
