Directory Permissions/Rights
Previous  Top  Next

This feature, called from either the popup menu of the TreeView or a button on the toolbar, allows the user to show/hide the permissions set for the current directory.

If the directory is a Netware share - then see the Netware Rights section to see that form.

When activated the list view appears to the right of the tree. It shows the directory permissions for NTFS partitions (only if you are running on a NT/2K/XP workstation. The NT Permission information is only available if you select the Gather NT Permissions Statistics checkbox on the Basic Tab. It is not available on Windows 9x/Me - as these operating systems cannot gather this information.

The permissions are displayed in a Windows 2000 format. It should be noted that the Windows 2000 format allows you to have multiple entries for each user. You can have an entry for permissions for a directory and an entry for permissions for the files in a directory.

The user is able to customize this window - by right clicking and choosing Customize from the popup menu. The user is then able to show hide any column or group of column they want to. The use can also re-arrange the columns to display then in any order they like. These changes will be remembered by the application and used the next time you start Disk Triage. Very similar to how you can customize the TreeView.
