When the user requests a report, the first screen shown is the Report Options screen. Below is the report options screen for the Tree Report. It is from this screen that you can choose which format to have the report output in. The default is Print (sent to the current default printer) - but you can choose any of the other formats before hitting the 'Select' button.
As well - there are Export formats where you may not want the Header and/or Footer bands of the Report. Exporting to Excel is a good example. You don't necessarily want each header and footer in the Excel Spreadsheet. You are just intererested in the details. By clicking Header and/or Footer checkboxes at the bottom of each Report Options screen - you can exclude them from the report or export.
