The File Search & Action allows the user to search for files based on the same criteria as a Disk Triage scan and then take actions against the resulting list.
The file search uses the same file scanning engine as the Disk Triage scanning feature - so you can ask it to find all files that meet those settings. For example you could ask it to find all the ReadOnly *.MP3 files that were owned by John Doe and have not been changed in over three months and are greater than 3 MB, etc. No other utility offers this level of flexibility in the scanning engine.
Once you have the list of files - you can further refine the list by sorting and filtering the results. The powerful grid allows you to sort simply by clicking on the column headers - and even allows you to sort by multiple columns. You can also filter the records - once again by multiple columns - by using the drop down arrow to the right of each column.
When you have the list of files that you want - you can choose which ones to take actions upon simply by checking the Select checkbox on the left hand side. You can also use the Selection buttons to Select All, Select None and Invert your current selection.
Once you have your selection made - you are then able to take actions against them...
Delete the selected file(s) - Get rid of files wasting space quickly
Copy the selected file(s) - and keep the directory structure if you wish
Move the selected file(s) - and keep the directory structure if you wish
NTFS Compress the selected file(s) - Native NTFS compress the files in place!!
Change Attributes of the selected file(s) - ReadOnly, Hidden, System, Archive
Take Ownership of the selected file(s) - Great for Regulatory Compliance
Send the selected file(s) to a Zip file - Zip to file for Archiving
Take a Custom Action against the files(s) - where you define the action
Export the selected files to a column delimited list for use in other applications

As well - these features can be scheduled to run in Batch Mode.
