When you enter the various analysis sizing specifications into the forms in the upper Input area, you may have different settings for each directory. For example you may want to search one directory for a general sizing and another directory only including files without their Archive attribute set, etc. In most programs this generally means a lot of re-entry of sizing specs each time you want to size a directory.
Disk Triage gets around this issue by introducing the ability to save the entire input sizing specifications (you can also think of them as Sizing Criteria) for later reuse. When you enter the specific criteria for a sizing (directory name, etc) - you can then save it to disk and later recall it quickly. This is very useful if you perform a particular sizing over and over. Just enter the criteria once and then just recall it each time after that.
This feature can also be used in Batch Mode. You can setup the sizing input specifications and test them interactively. Then when they produce the results you want - you can save them out to disk - and then simply use the 'I=' parameter to load them when running in Batch Mode.
You can access the Save and Load features of the input specifications from either the main menu (File/Save/Save InputSpecs & File/Load/Load InputSpecs) or from the main button bar - just below the menu.
The input specifications are held in the InputSpecs sub-directory off the installation directory. The files all have 'INP' for the extension - and the data is saved as XML.
