The Performance tab allows the user to change how Disk Triage will perform when doing the sizing.
Allow User to Interrupt Sizing
This option should normally be enabled. If it is not enabled then the user will not be able to abort a sizing by hitting either the Stop button in the toolbar or by hitting the 'Esc' key. If you need to squeeze every drop of speed from the sizing - you can disable this option with the realization that if you need to stop the sizing - you will have to Kill the entire Disk Triage process in Windows.
Use Progress Estimates
This option is enabled by default and controls the display of the big progress bar that shows when sizing/analysing a directory structure. It should be noted that in order to generate the progress bar - the program needs to make a pass through all the files in all the directories it will be sizing. However, this first pass is very quick and actually speeds up the second pass, so the final result is not more than 1.5 times the normal sizing time.
If you need to quicken up a large sizing (50,000+ directories) then we would advise turning this option off while performing that sizing.
Disable Netware Support
By default Disk Triage is configured to support Novell Netware. If there are no Netware servers in your environment, you can turn off support for Netware and it will improve startup and shutdown performance of Disk Triage.
Minimize during Sizing
This option allows you to minimize Disk Triage while the sizing is taking place. It frees up your screen space and will automatically bring Disk Triage back up when the sizing is completed.
Minimize Run Priority
When you choose to run Disk Triage in Minimized mode - you can also set the priority that it will run at. Depending on what you are looking to do while it is running - you can set it above or below normal processes in Windows.
