Once you have the FTP servers you need to access setup - you can then start scanning them. In order to access the FTP server - you need to use a different format in the edit box "Directory to be Sized". It needs to being with "FTP:" - which tells Disk Triage that it will be dealing with a FTP server and not a normal drive. The second part is the alias name or IP Address. In the screen shot below - the "timeacct" is the alias we defined in the configuration of the available FTP Servers. The final part of the highlighted entry in the screen shot below tells Disk Triage to start the sizing in the sub-directory specified. Note that with the FTP servers you use the Slash (/) instead of the Backslash (\) that is used in Windows directory names.
So the basic format is :
FTP:aliasname[/subdirectory]
The above screen shot shows the sizing of the "disktriage" directory on our website. As you can see it looks pretty much like a sizing of a normal directory. You can even consolidate the information with other disk space - whether it is another FTP server or a local drive. To Disk Triage it is just another sizing - that can be reported on, saved to database, compared in the visual sizing comparison utility, etc.
